Valley is going to witness more rains and snow during next 24 hours, MeT department said.

“We are expecting more snow in higher reaches and rains in plains up to Saturday,” they said, “Respite from dry weather conditions especially in Kashmir valley is likely to continue for next 24 hours or more.”

Officials said, the minimum temperature was recorded at 3 degree Celsius below the normal in Srinagar last night.

Mercury dipped in Kashmir valley last night due to fresh snow fall in upper reaches and rains for last two days.

The 40-days long coldest period Chillai Kalan which began on 21-December will end on 31 January.
