Air traffic was affected Monday as no flights could land at Srinagar Airport, due to bad weather officials said. “No flight could land on Srinagar Airport due to bad weather,” they said.

As already reported Srinagar-Jammu Highway remained closed for traffic due to snowfall and rains that triggered mud slides in Panthal area.

Meanwhile, reports reaching to Kashmir Life suggest that the fresh snowfall has caused damage to the trees especially in district Shopian.

Srinagar and other places in the valley received fresh snowfall and the weather office said more is expected in higher reaches in next 24 hours.

At least 10 inches of snow was recorded in the north town of Shopian.

There has been heavy snowfall on the Zojila Pass that connects the valley with Ladakh region of the state.

Reports from south Kashmir also said there was heavy snowfall on Sunday night especially on the upper reaches.

Heavy snowfall has also occurred in the Bannihal sector of the over 300-km long Srinagar-Jammu highway and authorities have temporarily stopped the movement of vehicles on the road.
