SRINAGAR: Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, and seven others have been booked for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Monday.
According to a police statement, the action was taken after a complaint was received on March 15, alleging that a group of guests at the hotel were found consuming alcohol in violation of local regulations. Following this, an FIR was registered under relevant legal provisions.
The accused, identified as Orhan Awatramani (Orry), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arzamaskina, allegedly consumed liquor despite being informed that alcohol and non-vegetarian food were strictly prohibited within the property due to its proximity to the revered pilgrimage site.
Taking cognisance of the matter, a team under the supervision of SP Katra, DySP Katra, and SHO Katra was formed to track those involved.
