While terming as ‘unfortunate and condemnable’ the killing of a youth, Sohail Ahmad Sofi, at Doabagh Sopore, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday called for through probe into the incident.
“Hurriyat Conference has all along been against killing of innocent people and it continues to do so. We want that an independent investigation be carried out into the killing to unveil as to who is behind the act”, the Mirwaiz told KNS.
The Mirwaiz said that the murder of an innocent was akin to murder of humanity. “There is no scope or legibility of a murder on the basis of political, ideological or party grounds”, he said while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has also strongly condemned the killing of Suhail Sofi Kundri Mohalla Doabgah sopore by unidentified gunmen.
While expressing her deep condolences to the family, party president Mehbooba Mufti said that violence in any form brings destruction and causes tragedies. She urged for thorough probe into the matter to bring the culprits to justice.
She also urged the government to provide ex-gratia to the family of the victim.
