SRINAGAR: An army soldier was injured in a cross border shelling in frontier Kashmir district Kupwara on Monday.

A Defence official told that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along LoC in Machil sector by firing mortar shells and other weapons from across the LoC in which a soldier was injured.

He said that the injured soldier was shifted to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment and is said to be stable.

The Pakastani fire was replied befitting and effectively, he added. (KDC)
