Srinagar

In an ‘accidental’ firing incident in the border district of poonch in Jammu an Army soldier was killed on Tuesday, reports said.

However, it was reported earlier that the soldier had died in Pakistan firing.

But, later on, a defense spokesperson denied that there was any firing from the Pakistani side on Monday.

“There had been no ceasefire violation (from Pakistan). It was one casualty due to accidental discharge,” the spokesperson was quoted in reports.

The spokesperson also said that there were incidents of firing from opposite side in Naushera sector of the de facto border in Rajouri district on Monday.

He also said that Indian Army has retaliated strongly, as per reports.
