The Solina traders are protesting the proposed move of Kashmir administration to close Rambagh-Jahangir Chowk road.

After the J&K government ordered the diversion of traffic on Rambagh-Jehangir Chowk road, the traders in Solina area continued their protest against the move citing that it is taking a huge toll on their businesses.

The traders have organized a sit-in on the main road, however, they are not obstructing the movement of traffic, witnesses said.

After the fly over crash in Kolkata in Eastern state of India last week, the divisional commissioner Kashmir Dr Asghar Samoon had ordered the closure of the road from Rambagh to Solina where a fly over is being constructed by J&K ERA.

The divisional administration had come under pressure from various quarters with people demanding the closure of the road to avoid any untoward incident.
