SRINAGAR: In a shocking turn of events, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended a son, along with his accomplices, in the Reasi district for the brutal murder of his own father. The accused not only killed his father but also went to great lengths to cover up the crime by concocting a story about his father’s disappearance.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Amit Gupta, the incident came to light when Dalip Singh, a resident of Tote-Bhomag Reasi, approached the Police Station on March 30, reporting that his brother, Paramjeet Singh, had gone missing from Reasi since March 27, 2023.

Upon receiving the complaint, a missing person report was filed at the Police Station Reasi, and an investigation was launched to locate the missing individual. Through inquiry aided by both human and technical resources, the police managed to apprehend several suspects. It was during this process that the shocking truth emerged – Paramjeet Singh had been murdered by his own son and his accomplices.

Subsequently, a Case FIR No 133/2023 was registered at the Police Station Reasi, and multiple police teams were formed to apprehend the individuals involved in the murder. The accused were identified as Sushil Chander, son of Sansar Chand of Chorakote Bhomag Reasi, Vikas Thakur, son of Paramjeet Singh (now deceased) of Tote-Bhomag Reasi, and Vipan Kumar, son of Rattan Lal of Kotli Manotrian.

During interrogation, the accused trio confessed that they, along with Seeta Ram, son of Sansar Chand of Chorakote Reasi, had conspired and executed the murder of Paramjeet Singh on March 27. They buried the victim’s body near the Serla Bhaga area.

SSP Reasi Gupta stated that a team from the Police Station Reasi, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) and a forensic expert from the FSL, was dispatched to the burial site. In the presence of an Executive Magistrate, the team discovered the decomposed body of the deceased.

Following the necessary legal procedures, the body was transported to Reasi Hospital and later transferred to GMC Jammu for a post-mortem examination and further expert analysis.

SSP Reasi emphasized that three individuals have been arrested thus far, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the murder of Paramjeet Singh. He stated that additional arrests may be made as the case progresses. The investigation aims to incorporate every piece of evidence to ensure that justice is served for this heinous act.
