SRINAGAR: An unidentified male body was found in the Shalteng bund area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.
An official told local news gatherer Kashmir Scroll that a body had been fished out of the river Jhelum at Shalteng Bund, and the concerned locals promptly informed the police about it.
Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took the body to the hospital for medico-legal formalities, he said.
He added that the male body was recovered from the river Jhelum, but the identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further investigation has been initiated, he further added. (KS)
