Mild clashes erupted between forces and students of Islamia College of Science and Commerce in Srinagar after the news about the killing of militant of Hajin spread in the premises.
Identified as Abid Hamid Mir of Hajin Bandipora, he was a student of the college and was on rolls in second year of B.Com.
Sources in the college said that the students assembled in the premises of the college and started marching raising slogans in favor of Azadi and against India.
Reports reaching here said that scores of students later tried to move out of the college. However, a posse of police stationed outside the college intercepted them, triggering clashes.
Later, sources said, the college administration intervened and pacified the protesting students.
Though the college has not be shut officially, however, majority of the students have left the college.
