Panic gripped in North Kashmir’s Sopore town after the dead body mauled by dogs of a 9th class student was found near Flour Mill in Chinkipora Gousia Abad on Friday. The dead body showed the signs of grave injuries ‘possibly’ inflicted on the body with sharp edged weapon.

Police sources told CNS that a class 9th student Dawood Ahmed Wagay son of Ghulam Nabi Wagay resident of Maharajpora Sopore had left from his house along with one of this relatives from Dregpora Rafiabad on Thursday. The body of the student was found on Friday that was half mauled by the dogs.

Reports said that the dead body contained serious injuries on chest while initial reports suggest that he had been attacked by sharp edged weapon. “It seems that dead body was thrown near Flour Mill during evening and it lied in open throughout night. The dogs had mauled the body and it was initially very difficult to identify him,” a police official present on spot of crime told CNS.

Station House Officer, Sopore Ayaz Ahmed told CNS that they have started an investigation in this regard. “We are waiting for the postmortem report and accordingly will take up investigation,” he said. The deceased was a student of Sidiqia Model Public School Sopore.
