SRINAGAR
An Assistant Sub Inspector of Jammu Kashmir police who was critically injured after hit by militants in Sopore, Tuesday morning succumbed to his injuries at Army hospital Srinagar.
Police spokesman told Kashmir Life that Kafeel Ahmad breathed his last though doctors tried their best to save him.
He added that reinforcement was rushed to the spot where a fierce encounter was going on between the hiding militants and the forces.
Police sources said that besides Police, CRPF and Army men are engaged in the gunfight with militants.
Kafeel and three other SOG personnel were injured in Chankhun area of the apple town Sopore this morning in the first encounter of 2014, between militants and the forces in the valley.
