Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday issued a following statement regarding Bijbehara attack saying that today at about 1215 hours Anantnag police received information about a crime incident in Bijbehara area regarding where militants had fired on CRPF party. Senior police officers reached at the crime spot.
A police spokesman in a statement said that preliminary investigation revealed that militants fired upon the CRPF party, resulting in injuries to a CRPF personnel and a minor boy.
“Both the injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment where they succumbed to their injuries. The slain boy has been identified as Nehan Yawar son of Mohd Yaseen Bhat resident of Machwa Yaripora, Kulgam,” said the spokesman.
He said that police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law.
“Investigation is in process and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime. Area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on,” said police spokesman in a statement.
