Officials said the attached assets include a double-storey residential house, a shopping complex comprising 20 shops, and land measuring 1 Kanal and 6 Marlas.

The property belongs to Javid Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Abdullah Rather, a resident of Waghama, who is an accused in FIR No. 237/2021 registered under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara.

Police stated that the attachment was executed after completion of all legal procedures under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. The total market value of the seized property has been estimated at around Rs 2.5 crore.

Anantnag Police reiterated their commitment to curbing the drug menace and said action against individuals involved in narcotics trafficking will continue. They further stated that attachment of illegally acquired assets serves as a strong deterrent against drug-related crime and other unlawful activities.
