KL Report

SRINAGAR

Former Union Minister and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Saifuddin Soz today said that he would ask officers in the state administration to set aside time for meeting people and respond to their genuine demands.

Soz said that he would also ask the officers that they should not require any recommendation for meeting the people ‘and it should be a matter of free access’.

Prof Soz hoped that the officers would listen to him as it was not something outside jurisdiction of their official duties.

He said this during a visit to Sonem-Kunzer (Tangmarg) today and offered his condolences to a Congress worker who has lost his mother and also addressed a public gathering. He was accompanied by  Gulam Nabi Monga MLC, Vice President, Mohd Amin Khan, Aftab Ahmad Beigh District Presidents, Gulam Mohi din Bhat and  prominent workers of the District.

The people explained their problem to Prof Soz, such as non existence of properly maintained roads and lanes, lack of foot paths, lack of better road connectivity, extreme lack of electric infrastructure etc.

Soz assured the people that he would take up these matters of their development with the concerned authorities as soon as possible.

On this occasion Prof Soz sanctioned funds out of his MP LAD for construction of drain, provision of Transformer and fencing of Public Park.
