State Congress President Prof Saifud din Soz has welcomed the reappointment of NN Vohra as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for the second consecutive term.

“It is a matter of great satisfaction that government of India have decided to appoint NN Vohra as Governor  of  Jammu and Kashmir State for another term”, Soz  said in a statement to a local news agency, KNS.

“This measure will, among other things, promote stability and harmony in the State. I know Vohra  for a long time now. His secular credentials are fully recognized all over. Vohra has already shown his culture and taste for equity and justice as basic principles for a balanced Social, Economic and Political Development in the  Jammu and Kashmir State”, Soz said while adding, “I wish Vohra all success in the discharge of his duties attached to the high office of Governor.”

Meanwhile Parliament member and senior National Conference leader Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri has also welcomed Vohra’s reappointment for second term.  “Vohra has showed statesmanship at every crucial juncture. He was not swayed by rhetoric or sloganeering. His tenure as Governor has been a positive and pleasant change after the controversial tenure of his predecessor General Sinha”,  Ratanpuri told KNS on Monday from New Delhi.

“In view of the coming elections and the challenges involved in their peaceful conduct, continuity at Raj Bhawan was more than desired”, the first time MP from South Kashmir added.

Meanwhile Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) and Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir while welcoming Vohra’s reappointment said, “Vohra is statesman and hugely experienced to run a state like Jammu and Kashmir.”

“He is not only a successful Governor at political Front, but he also shown keen interested in the development of the state also”,  Mir told KNS.
