SRINAGAR
An “On-The-Spot Speech” Competition was organized by S P College Wednesday in the college auditorium in which 17 students participated.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Sajjad Bazaz encouraged the students for their participation in such competitions which do play a pivotal role in their all-round development.
The Principal stressed that need of the hour is to conduct such programme regularly as they form the back bone of academics. He lauded the students who were participating in the event and highlighted the importance of such extempore competitions and their impact on the intellectual capital in the time that is taken over by ‘Cut, Copy, Paste’ storm.
The Jury comprised of, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof Assia Siddiqi, Dean, Academics Prof B A Najar and senior faculty member, Department of Geography Prof (Dr) A R Bhat.
Four outstanding speakers namely Shakeel-ur-Ramzan of B.Sc. 1st Year, Basharat Rashid of B.Sc. 3rd Year together with Misbah Ayoub of B.Sc. 1st Year and Younis Ahmad Kaloo of B.Sc 3rd Year were awarded the first, second and third prizes of Rs. 2000, Rs. 1500and Rs. 1000/= respectively.
The function was concluded by vote of thanks presented by Prof (Dr) B A Mir co-convener debate and seminar committee. The whole proceedings were the conducted and coordinated by Prof (Dr) Humaira Qadri and penned down by Prof Dr Khursheed Ahmad Parry.
