“The initiative is aimed at giving respect to the teacher community,” said KCCI president Sheikh Ashiq.

“We discussed the idea of serving teachers on a discount rate on Teacher Day with the Director, School Education, Kashmir. He liked the initiative and gave his nod,” Sheikh Ashiq added.

It was for the first time that the business community had come forward to show respect towards the teaching community.

“Teachers can visit any hotel or restaurant along with their family and enjoy any feast or ‘wazwan’ at a 10 per cent discounted rate. At the time of billing, they will just have to show their school identity card,” Ashiq said.
