Special Jammu–Chhapra Train Launched to Ease Passenger Rush

   

SRINAGAR: A special reserved train service has been introduced between Jammu Tawi and Chhapra to ease passenger congestion and improve connectivity, with operations scheduled from April to July, railway authorities said.

Train No. 05194 will run from Jammu Tawi every Wednesday at 01:20 hrs from April 8 to July 15, reaching Chhapra on Thursday at 09:15 hrs, completing 15 trips. In the return direction, Train No. 05193 will operate from April 6 to July 13, departing Chhapra every Monday at 14:12 hrs and arriving at Jammu Tawi on Tuesday at 23:00 hrs, also completing 15 trips.

The train will halt at key stations including Kathua, Pathankot Cantt., Jalandhar Cantt., Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt., Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Gonda, Gorakhpur and several others along the route.

Officials said the service has been introduced in view of heavy passenger demand and will provide direct connectivity between Jammu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The train will include AC, sleeper and general class coaches to cater to different categories of passengers.

Passengers have been advised to book tickets in advance through reservation counters or the IRCTC platform.
