SRINAGAR: Railway authorities have launched a special train from Katra to Delhi to assist stranded passengers and accommodate the additional rush following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 civilians dead and many injured.
A railway official said the tickets would be available over the counter at Katra, Udhampur, and Jammu stations.
He said the train would depart from Katra station at 9:20 pm, with a halt at Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Station, Udhampur, at 9:48 pm, and another at Jammu Tawi Railway Station at 11:00 pm.
“This special train will assist in managing the increased passenger load and ensuring a safe journey to New Delhi. The train is scheduled to reach New Delhi at 9:30 am on Thursday. Also, the National Highway at Ramban has been made functional on a one-way basis. Passengers stranded in Kashmir and Jammu may use this special train,” he said.
He added that the administration remains committed to the well-being of all tourists and urged everyone to cooperate and follow the necessary guidelines.
