A Special Police Officer (SPO) was shot at and injured by suspected militants in central Kashmir’s Budgam district late Saturday night.
A police official said that suspected militants barged into the house of Mohammad Hafiz at Chravani Chraresharief late today evening and fired upon him.
Hafiz suffered injuries in his leg and was shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment, he said and adding that Hafiz is working in the office of SDPO Charar Sharif.
Meanwhile, government forces arrived on the spot and launched search operation to nab assailants.
