Forces on Saturday night launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Qaimoh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Reports said that the CASO was launched late evening today in Gratbal village of Qaimoh.

Reports said that a joint team of army, CRPF, and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir laid a siege at Gratbal village of Qaimoh late today evening.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the movement of some suspected militants.

“All entry and exit points of the area have been sealed and door to door searches are going on,” sources said.

The security grid was in the process of installing lights in the area when this report was being filed.

Earlier in the day, several persons were injured after clashes broke out in Khudwani Ghat area of the district where forces had launched a CASO after inputs about the presence of militants.
