Taking notice of concerns expressed by people in general and members of civil society in particular, State Congress Chief Prof Saifuddin Soz Friday asked Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Shabir Ahmad Khan to make public the facts about supply of spurious drugs to valley hospitals.

“I have asked minister to explain his stand on the issue before people of the state especially civil society members who are interested in this area”, Saifuddin Soz told KNS on Friday. It is for the first time that the JKPCC president has taken interest in the matter after members from the civil society asked him to intervene in the matter ‘as people were concerned about the issue’.

The state Congress Chief said that the Health Minister had assured him of bringing all the details related to the issue into public domain to allay concerns among common people.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Shabir Ahmad Khan told KNS that facts would be made public soon. “Civil Society members and other organizations met me. I also assured them independent probe and punishment to culprits”. He said that nobody would be spared and strict action under law would be taken, whosoever, found involved.
