Responding to a query from legislator Shamima Firdous, Rana said that the government is committed to ensuring essential services and timely repairs of defunct water supply schemes. He maintained that no water supply pipeline in Srinagar is currently non-functional, and damaged distribution lines are restored under stage contracts.

He further assured that water is being supplied as per the schedule of existing treatment plants, ensuring adequate coverage across the city. MLA Mubarak Gul also raised supplementary questions on the matter.

On a separate issue, responding to MLA Reyaz Ahmad Khan, Rana clarified that PHE works in Shangus are managed by the PHE Division Bijbehara, irrigation works by the Irrigation Division Anantnag, and flood-related works by the Flood Control Division Anantnag.

He stated that there is currently no need to establish separate facilities for Shangus, assuring that the government remains committed to providing essential services in remote areas.
