SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Srinagar on Thursday registered an FIR into allegations of disproportionate assets accumulated by Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, former Junior Engineer of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, Sub-Division Pulwama.
Officials said Bhat was found to be in possession of substantial immovable and movable assets, as well as significant cash deposits, both in his name and in the names of his family members. “The assets were determined to be disproportionate to his known sources of income during the verification process. Consequently, an FIR (No. 04/2025) was registered at P/S ACB Srinagar.”
Under the supervision of SSP Javid Hassan Bhat, searches were conducted simultaneously at two of Bhat’s residential properties—one in Pehlipora Safapora, Ganderbal, and the other in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar.
“During the searches, incriminating material, including revenue records and financial/banking documents, was recovered and seized as evidence. Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing,” officials said. (KNO)
