Srinagar to host exhibition of rare manuscripts

Directorate of Archives, Archaeology & Museums is going to organize a special exhibition of rare manuscripts and recent archaeological and numismatic findings from Kashmir, states official spokesman.
This is being done to celebrate ‘World Heritage Day’.

Manuscripts of the Holy Qur’an calligraphed in 1237 AD on a 25 feet long and 2.5 inch wide scroll paper. 

The exhibition according to spokesman will be organized on April 18 at Directorate of Archives, Archaeology & Museum. The entry to venue would be free.

During the event, rare collections of Arabic, Persian, Sharda and Gilgat Manuscripts, besides recent finds including terracotta tiles and numismatic hoards discovered at Watnar and Nuner Budgam will be put on display.
