The Jammu-Srinagar highway was shut for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday due to the accumulation of snow at various places.

An official said that snow clearance operation is going on in the Bannihal area while landslide debris is being cleared at Digdol, Panthal, Battery Chashma and Anokhi Falls in the Ramsoo-Ramban sector.

“The decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway will be taken only after the road is cleared off by the road maintenance agency concerned and after assessing the road condition,” the official said.

Meanwhile, the traffic on historical Mughal road, and Srinagar-Sonamarg, Gumri remained closed due to the accumulation of snow.
