After remaining open for two days, the Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed again due to the fresh landslides and shooting stones at Ramban district on Wednesday.
A traffic official said that the fresh landslide occurred at the Anokhi fall causing an inconvenience to traffic movement. “The traffic movement will be allowed after the road is cleared,” he said, adding that men and machinery have been pressed into the service to clear the road.
Earlier the road was closed for almost a week till Monday, now after remaining opens for two days, the road has been closed again today due to the landslides.
Meanwhile, the historic Mughal road and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road remained closed due to the accumulation of the snow on the highway.
The traffic department has advised the commuters to undertake journey only after confirming the status of the road.
