SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Sunday said that on Monday subject to fair weather and better road condition only one-way traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar including Ramban-Banihal (local traffic) on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The traffic department in an advisory said TCU Jammu shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Nagrota (Jammu) from 05: 00 hrs to 10:00 hrs and Jakheni (Udhampur) from 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs.

“No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said.

“Only stranded heavy motor vehicles between Jawahar Tunnel and Zig (Qazigund) shall be allowed towards Jammu. However, fresh perishable carriers shall be allowed in the opposite direction subject to traffic situation on NHW,” it added.

“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar highway. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of highway,” it reads.

“On 26-02-2021 Friday, there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the highway,” it added.

The historic Mughal Road and SSG Road is closed due to snow accumulation, reads the advisory.

It said that the Srinagar-Leh highway is closed by the J&K Government vide  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s order No. 400/2020 dated 30-12-2020 till further orders.
