SRINAGAR: A mass marriage ceremony was organised by a local NGO on Thursday, in which twelve couples hailing from different districts tied the knot.
Ashiq Hussain, Chairman of the NGO ‘Peace and Friendship Foundation JK’ as quoted by KNO said, “Today we have arranged a marriage function at our branch office located near Saida Kadal Srinagar where we successfully tied the knot of twelve couples who hailing from various parts of the valley.”
The Chairman also stated that all the families that were involved in the event were all deserving, “It took us an amount of approximately seven lakh rupees to arrange the mass marriage function.”
Maulana Hakeem Sajad, accompanied by Maulana Nazir Ahmad carried out the Nikkah ceremony. (KNO)
