Continuing its detention of separatist leadership ahead of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Kashmir visit, police put Hurriyat (m) chief under house detention early Wednesday.

Spokesperson of the amalgam, Shahid Ul Islam told Kashmir Life, “Mirwaiz and myself have been detained in our respective homes around 9 AM today.”

Mirwaiz has also called for a joint separatist program on Friday – a day preceding ‘Srinagar Million March program’ – to observe November 6 as ‘Solidarity Day’ with Muslims of Jammu. He has proposed a joint sit-in program at Jamia Masijd.

The Hurriyat (m) spokesperson further said, “Our human rights division head, Adv Abdul Manan Bukhari, too have been arrested and put in to custody at Nowgam Police Station.”

Dozens of Hurriyat leaders and activists, most from Geelani led group, have either been detained at their respective residences or in police stations to prevent them from any counter march on Saturday.
