A shutdown is being observed in various parts of Srinagar following a shutdown call by Itehadul Muslimeen against the rape of a minor girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora district.
An eyewitness said that all the shops and other business establishments’ area closed in different areas of the city, and a thin movement of traffic was seen on roads. A massive deployment government forces were seen on the roads particularly in downtown areas of the city.
Earlier, various political and socio-religious parties have condemned the incident and demanded strict action against those who are responsible for the act.
