Accusing Kashmir University of wasting the precious time of students, Bachelor of engineering students from SSM College Parihaspora Pattan during a protest here in Press Enclave Srinagar said that both college and university authorities are least bothered about the future of students. The female students alleged that Controller Examination Kashmir University taunted and abused them when they visited his office with a hope that he will understand their problem.

“We are BE students Batch 2011 studying in SSM College of Parihaspora Pattan. In August 2011 we got admission for a four year course that was supposed to get completed in August 2015.  It is March 2016 and we are still there in the college. Out of 8 semesters only 4 semesters have been completed yet. Both the college and Kashmir University authorities have wasted our precious time and nobody is serious about our future. College authorities blame Kashmir University and the Varsity officials don’t listen to us. We were shocked when controller examination, Kashmir University Abdul Salam abused and misbehaved with us when we visited his office requesting him to conduct examination on time,” the female students from SSM college Parihaspora told CNS.

The protesting students said that Kashmir University was supposed to conduct their examination in April 2016. “We were disappointed and aghast when Kashmir University informed us that examinations will not be conducted in April. The varsity is playing with the future of thousands of students and wasting their time. How can we be eligible for M.Tech admission when Kashmir University has been indulging in dilly dally tactics and not conducting our examination in time,” the protesting students said.

When contacted Kashmir University Controller examination Abdul Salam said that how can University waste the time of students? “We are going to conduct exams in April. The students have been leveling baseless allegations while the fact is SSM College is a notorious college with poor academic record, whose students know the location of Press Enclave but doesn’t know the destination of their laboratory,” he said.
