To improve and develop competitive spirit and capability among the students, the Education Department will be starting free coaching for Competitive Examinations in selected government educational institutions.

“We have decided to use the existing infrastructure and human resource in the Education Department for diverse academic activities including coaching for various competitive examinations like CET, AIEEE, JEE,” Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar said.

He said the Chief Education Officer Baramulla has taken the lead in this imitative and he has already issued a notification for enrolling students for coaching through a screening test, an official statement said Thursday evening.

As per the notification issued by CEO Baramulla, students studying in Class 12 in Higher Secondary Schools of the Baramulla catchment area and those who have already passed 12th class in session 2012-13 and 2013-14 from any Higher Secondary School (Government or Private) of the district, having secured 70% or above marks in class 10 shall be eligible for the said coaching programme.

Those desiring, can apply for coaching through the official website of GHSS Baramulla (www.gghsbla.in) from 11th to 20th August 2015, or in person at the office of Programme Co-ordinator at GHSS Baramulla.

Under the programme 50 students would be enrolled for coaching after short-listing through a screening test and interview.

According to the notification, 50% seats shall be reserved for those who have already passed 12th class in session 2012-13 and 2013-14 from any Higher Secondary School (Government or Private) of the district, while 50% seats for the students enrolled in Class 12 in Higher Secondary Schools of Baramulla catchment area.

The entrance test shall be based on multiple choice questions in, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics of class 11 and 12.

Last date for registration both online and in person is 20 August, while as the admit cards shall be issued from the office of Programme Co-ordinator, GHSS Baramulla on 21 and 22 August.

The entrance test shall be conducted on 23 August (Sunday) at 11:00 am, at GHSS Baramulla. The result of the short-listed candidates shall be published on the website of the institute and will be available at the Coordinator’s office on 27 August 2015, while as the interview shall be conducted on 30 August at GHSS Baramulla.

The course shall commence from 1 September 2015, and the classes will be held after 2:30 pm on all working days.
