Sterlite Technologies Secures Rs 2,600 Crore BharatNet Project in Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL) has secured the Jammu  Kashmir segment of the BharatNet III project, partnering with Dilip Buildcon Limited, media reports said.

This contract, valued at Rs 2,600 crore, includes Rs 1,625 crore for capital expenditure and Rs 975 crore for operations and maintenance.

The project will use STL’s automation-led fibre deployment approach, incorporating drone surveys, GIS mapping, and AI-driven network design to enable approximately 26 percent faster deployment and reduce fibre cuts by nearly four times compared to traditional methods. This technology-driven approach aims to accelerate BharatNet’s rollout in the challenging terrain of Jammu and Kashmir, improving connectivity for the region.

STL has prior experience with similar projects in India, including the Network for Spectrum (NFS) project for the Indian Armed Forces and BharatNet initiatives in Maharashtra and Telangana. The company’s fibre automation solution has been designed to expedite deployment while enhancing network quality.
