Legislator and Additional General Secretary National Conference Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal Thursday said he is not in favour of pre-poll alliance with Congress party.

“It’s my firm belief that any pre-poll alliance with Congress will cost our party heavily. I don’t want any alliance with Congress party as National Conference has its own identity,” Kamal told CNS adding that any decision in this regard is the exclusive prerogative of NC Working Committee.

Coming down heavily on Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Geelani for announcing ‘Marchs’ on daily basis, Kamal said that Geelani is after the present Government and his only purpose is to destabilize National Conference in Kashmir.

“What is the need to visit Tral and announce programme in City Centre Lal Chowk. Geelani wants to disturb the peace. If Government will allow him to address people in Lal Chowk, he will himself realize where he stands as only few odd supporters will listen to his ‘repeated mantra of forcible occupation,” he said.

Terming Geelani as the biggest hurdle in peace and dialogue process, Kamal told CNS that it was Geelani who persuaded Kashmiri youth to indulge in stone-pelting. “Stone-pelting in Kashmir is his brain-child. He (Geelani) feels content when anyone gets killed as Geelani thrives on disturbance,” Kamal said.

Kamal further said that time has come for Geelani to wrap up the ‘fake show’ and hold dialogue with the Government of India.
