President Awami Ithihad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Rashid has asked Chief Minister Omer Abdulla to accept the moral responsibility of the BOPEE scam and resign from his post, as “he has failed to protect the rights of those talented youth whose future has been destroyed by the people like Mushtaq Peer.”

“Omer Abdulla has failed to give justice to the people of state at all fronts,” Rashid said in a statement adding “but one wonders when people like Mehooba Mufti make a hue & cry over BOPEE scam, if PDP is so worried about getting transparency in the institutions & is keen to discourage corrupt top brasses, why it gave entry to many notorious officials including those involved in panchayat scam & Gulmarg land scam. It makes no sense when PDP, NC  & congress show their concern about the serious scandals ,surfacing every day because these parties have not only been ruling the state during all the times but have been encouraging corrupt people into politics.”

“There are many Mushtaq Peers who have been enjoying perks & privileges in major political parties like NC, PDP & congress,” Rashid alleged. “Why Omer Abdulla closed his eyes when his two cabinet colleagues, Sham  Lal Sharma and Taj Mohi-ul-din leveled serious charges of corruption in the recent past against each other, obviously he wanted to avoid further revelations about his tainted ministers,” Rashid asked.

He further said, “ The politicians especially ruling class have been patronizing and institutionalizing corruption at  the highest level and from Mantri to Santri almost everybody seems to be taking it as a fundamental right to Loot the Government and public property and is treating the state administration like a money making machine.”

“If CM has a bit of morality, he must resign without giving shameful excuses to cover the nefarious scams and deeds of his team that is working in Ali Baba Chalees Chour style.”
