SRINAGAR

Without naming anyone, senior Hurriyat leader Bilal Gani Lone Monday said that if small separatist groups are serious about the ongoing freedom struggle then they all should wind up their business and join either Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq or the thought pursued by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Lone told Srinagar based news agency CNS that Hurriyat is an effervescent and vibrant force, which cannot be written off. “Criticizing each other and indulging in mudslinging would lead us towards disaster. Reckless statements made by some leaders prove beneficial for our opponents and it causes serious damage to the Movement,” he said.

“There are only three major political thoughts, one is followed by Syed Ali  Geelani, another by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the third is pursued by Muhammad Yasin Mlik. All other petty groups should join these major groups in the interest of Freedom Movement. Mere issuing statements and criticizing each other is not going to work and if these groups are really serious about the Movement then their leaders should wind up their shops and show a united face,” Lone said.

Bilal Gani Lone said that the cause of Hurriyat is sacred and bigger. “Hurriyat represents the sentiments of people and it is not fighting for grabbing power. There are up’s and down’s but we should not give in. No doubt, Hurriyat is in infancy stage but it has achieved what we failed to achieve in four decades,” he said.

He admitted that there are flaws in Hurriyat Conference but at the same time said that there are people in Hurriyat who are really capable and know how to deliver.

Lone appealed all the separatist leaders to shun the habit of criticizing and instead suggest ways and means to take this Movement to its logical conclusion.
