Abdul-Ghani-KohliTerming peace a pre-requisite for development and prosperity, Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli Thursday urged the social and religious organizations to work in unison to strengthen the bonds of amity and communal harmony.

“Maintaining communal harmony is the priority of both the central and the state governments and development of the nation is not possible without amity and brotherhood among its citizens,” he said while addressing an Islamic Conference organized by Ullemma-ahl-e-Sunnat at Eidgah.

Kohli according to spokesman said Islam is against violence and terrorism and the people involved in the innocent killings don’t belong to any religion. He said Islam is a religion of peace, which believes in peaceful co-existence and prosperity of all.

Kohli further said that J&K is a beautiful amalgam of various religions and cultures, which are strongly knitted in the bonds of amity and brotherhood.  He said it is the duty of all of us to maintain this brotherhood.
