At least three policemen were injured after the infuriated mob pelted stones on them alleging that inaction on part of them resulted in the death of a B.Ed student in South Kashimr’s Islamabad district.
Reports said that Ehsan Rashid Dar resident of Seel Udainpora, Doda had got admission in B.Ed College located in Aungmati pora of Islamabad town.
Eyewitnesses told CNS that Ehsan along with his other friends were taking bath in Nallah Lidar when suddenly he drowned. His friends and other locals raised alarm and all efforts to trace him proved futile.
A police party from General Bus Stand Islamabad reached on spot and after an hour long rescue operation, the body was retrieved from the Nallah. Locals alleged that police reached late on spot and resorted to stone pelting which left three policemen injured.
The injured policemen were identified as Hawaldar Abdul Majeed (30A), Sub-Inspector Ghulam Muhammad (899) and Muhammad Yousuf (458A).
Principal B.Ed College told CNS that police reached in time and retrieved the body of the deceased student. “We are grateful to police for helping us to recover the body,” he said.
