Srinagar: Massive protests erupted in Kashmir University campus on Thursday morning against the “callous attitude” of the university authorities in tracing a youth of 3rd semester LLB who has gone “missing” after he participated in a protest against the Kulgam civilian killings in the University premises some days back.

The students staged a protest demonstration in front of vice chancellor’s office.  A protestor who is the member of Kashmir University Students Union said that they are apprehensive of involvement of police in the case of “disappearance”. The protestors demanded the intervention of Vice Chancellor in tracing the “missing student.”

According to protesting students, “missing” student last attended his class on February 21 afternoon.  They said that they first approached University seeking their involvement in tracing down the “missing” student but “the university authorities showed no interest so we are forced to hold protest demonstration”.

The protests have affected the routine class work as students from various departments are pouring in to join protestors.
