Urging upon Education Department to stop conducting mid-term examination, scores of students Monday said that the authorities would go against their own logic and wisdom if the colleges were asked or allowed to conduct mid-term examination in November or December.
A delegation of students told CNS that the recents floods have rendered a large number of students homeless. These students, like their elders, have been under immense mental stress due to the disruption in their lives.
They said that the authorities have taken a right decision by postponing all examinations till March next. They added that the authorities would go against their own logic and wisdom if the colleges were asked/allowed to conduct mid-term examination in November or December. “Holding any such examination would only add to the stress that the students and their families have been going through in the aftermath of the floods,” they said adding that most of the students have lost their books and the notes they had prepared with great hardwork.
The students appealed to the Education Department that midterm examinations of all college students should be canceled. They said that the marks they would obtain in the midterm exams could be given to them on the basis of their performance in the final exam.
