The students converged on main Sartingal road and shouted slogans against Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department. The protesters said that there are scores of pot holes on the road and they have widened due to incessant rains from past two years

Students also took out a procession from the premises of the school and marched through various areas.

As mark of protest and to attract the attention of authorities, some students dropped frogs in the potholes and turned it into a pond. The students alleged that the concerned R&B officials are showing no interest in repairing the road.

“They have zero interest in serving people. They claim of spending crores on development but on ground there is nothing visible,” the student protesters said.

A girl student of the school Shagun Manhas said, “Sartingal to Kash Nalthi road is only 4 kilometers away from Bhadewrah town and is way to famous tourist destination Padri but in spite of this is in worse condition. The potholes are the common site on road and many times students also received injury.”

Another student Waseem Raja said that due to the blowing of huge dust from the dilapidated road, there are the apprehensions’ that chest disease will break out in the area and especially among students who pass through this road on daily basis .“The said road is in dilapidated condition since many years, due to which we are facing various difficulties”, he said, adding that during rainy season, the road condition gets worse. The protesting students appealed to the concerned departments and MLA to get the road repaired so that they may not suffer anymore on account of dilapidated condition of the road.
