A group of Kashmiri students stranded at different places in Gujarat have urged Jammu and Kashmir administration to evacuate them.

The students said most of them are studying in the Gujarat Central university and are stranded in Gandhi Nagar area.

“The hostels are almost empty and the constant uneasiness and fright of the coronavirus doesn’t let us stay sane,” a PhD scholar Nahida Zargar told Kashmir Life over the phone from Gujarat.

“Temperature is increasing with each passing day which is making our survival difficult here,” she said.

She said that it is very difficult-staying away from home in complete isolation that too in Ramadan.

Nahida added “If it wouldn’t have been for our parents, we would not be this anxious. Our parents are worried and are going through a tough time.”

The students said other states evacuated their students from hostels, but the J&K administration is not taking any initiative to evacuate us.

The student added that they didn’t imagine the lockdown to prolong. “Nobody is listening to us, Please help us,” the students said.
