#SundayAppeal: District hospital Islamabad is ailing

By Ab. Rashid Bhat

District Hospital administration Islamabad is unable to function smoothly owing to huge rush of patients coming from District Ramban, Kishtiwar, Kulgam, Shopian,Pulwama & Islamabad

The OPD and other facilities available are not patient friendly. The scarcity of specialists in the hospital is a routine matter.

You can’t expect diagnosis of critical patients. The prescribed medicines by simple MBBS doctors is compromised with sub standard drugs. High end treatment for simple ailments. Unecessary examinations is a routine matter. Non availability of proper seating arrangements for patients adds miseries to ill patients. Non availability of mortuary ambulance service in hospital is really a big human rights violation.

The administration categorically deny ambulance service to dead bodies. The blood bank is not up to the mark. Transfer of specialists from Skims Srinagar is the need of an hour.

Both lower and upper rank officials should be transferred.

I have personal experience of Gandhi nagar hospital jammu where in you have a piece of mind. Free medicines from dispensary as doctor prescribes and informs patients to check first in dispensary before going to outside market. This is all about medical fraternity is for serving mankind.

The other concern is Uniform less doctors. They are hazardous for treatment as you are supposed to be treated by a Doctor with MBBS, MD or consultant but without proper display of degree in uniform you are often treated by BUMS or Ayush doctors or sometimes by a medical assistant. Uniform & degree display must be mandatory for practices.
