SRINAGAR: According to the official spokesman of the Government Railway Police (GRP) Kashmir, Sunil Kumar, IPS after assuming the charge of Additional DGP Railways, J&K paid his maiden visit to GRP Kashmir today.

He held meetings with the Supervisory Officers/SHO’s of GRP Kashmir with the security and behaviour of GRP personnel remaining the focal point. Discussions were held on the security scenario in the valley and arrangements were put in place in the railway stations of GRP Kashmir.

The vulnerability of the railway stations and tracks was also reviewed and various measures were discussed to be put in place for all-round safety and security.

Issues and problems faced by the GRP personnel were also discussed and assured to be taken up for redressal.

Meanwhile, Kumar stressed upon the 24 x 7 presence of alertness of the personnel along the railway stations. Besides, officers were stressed to behave politely with passengers at the places of their duty while extending a helping hand to passengers when required.
