‘Suspected Militants Snatch 4 Rifles from Cops in Kulgam’

In yet another bid, suspected militants have fled with four rifles and other ammunition from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district last night.

Reports said that the rifle snatchers, believed to be militants, on Sunday snatched four rifles from a police-post in Kulgam.

The militants snatched 4 rifles along with six magazines in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday a “minority police picket” in Adijan area of Kulgam.

In past as well, there have been many such attempts that militants fled with JKP rifles. In a few cases, the rifles were recovered as well.

A cop from Kulgam said, “preliminary reports suggest that two SLRs and two INSAS rifles have been snatched by militants.”
