Hours after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that the state government has decided to ask newly constituted State Vigilance Commission (SVC) to probe the infamous drug scam, Chief Vigilance Commissioner Kuldeep Khoda Monday said that the Commission was prepared for the task.
“We would ensure transparent investigation into the scam,” Khoda told a local news agency, KNS. He, however, said that the case has not been formally transferred to the Commission yet.
“I also heard Chief Minster telling media about it, but the Commission has not formally received an communication, may be we receive it in a couple of days,” he added.
Sources said that the Commission was still to occupy its office in Srinagar which might take some days before the library block of the old Secretariat approved by the government is cleared for them.
Pertinently Government has already approved the library block in the old secretariat Srinagar as the office for the Vigilance Commission.
