The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) while taking notice to the embezzlements and maladministration, allegedly committed by some officers/officials at the helm of affairs of SKICC, summons Director SKICC Srinagar Monday.
“Taking cognizance of a complaint lodged by SKICC Employees Union through their President in connection with alleged malpractices, mismanagement and other gross irregularities committed by General Manager (Operations), Manager (Operations), Catering officer and others in connivance and conspiracy with each other, besides, maliciously making personal deals with some National Level Companies and Firms in permitting them in organizing functions at SKICC Srinagar, in violation of rules and norms, tantamounting to abuse of official position, breach of trust, thereby inflicting huge loss to the State Exchequer by the concerned Public Servants, the State Vigilance Commission sought report from the Director SKICC, Srinagar,” the SVC said in a statement.
“The report alongwith records submitted prima-facie revealed lack of commitment and half hearted approach adopted by the higher administrative authorities viz Commissioner Secretary to Government, Department of Tourism, Director Tourism Kashmir, and other concerned to unveil the omissions and commissions of their subordinates, who misused their official positions causing huge loss to SKICC/Government.”
The enquiry further reveals that SKICC officers for their personal motives provided Hospitality to many private individuals and groups on Government expenses in the name of “Tourism Promotion”.
“The State Vigilance Commission while looking into gravity of allegations levelled, and the apparent concealing of facts to cover up faults of erring officials, summoned the Director SKICC Srinagar, to explain the report submitted by him on next date of hearing.”
