Army while claiming foiling of an infiltration bid has killed three militants on Sunday along the Line of Control in Tanghdar.
PRO Army Col N N Joshi told KNS that the three militants killed are supposed to have been involved in the attack on the BSF post in Tangdhar sector on August 19 which left three troopers injured. The ambush was carried out jointly by 20 RR and 26 Rajputana Rifles near Nichian village in the foothills of Shamsbari range.
“Three AK rifles, 15 AK magazines and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants and combing operation is still on,” Joshi.
The group is believed to have recently crossed the LOC and the contact between the Army and militants resulted during wee hours of Sunday. However the identification of slain trio was not immediately ascertained.
